January doesn’t have to be loud or rushed. This year at Cove, we chose to begin 2026 by slowing things down, moving with intention, and creating spaces for our Cove community to connect, both inside and outside the studio.
These Cove community events are an important part of how we move, connect, and start the year together, both inside and outside the studio.
From our Rise & Restore retreat, to our first Run Club of the year, and the launch of Cove Walking Club, January reminded us that movement looks different for everyone, and all of it belongs.
Here’s a look back at how we eased into the year together.
Rise & Restore: Pilates & Sound Bath Retreat

Our January retreat, Rise & Restore, took place on Sunday 11th January at the beautiful Yoga Yurt in Cuckfield, an afternoon designed entirely for calm, reset, and renewal.
The retreat invited our community to pause and gently ease into the year, with an experience that balanced movement, rest, and nourishment.
The afternoon included:
A 1-hour Mat Pilates class led by Ellie (@pilates.by.ellie)
Warming cacao and handmade bliss balls by Izzy at Dosha Health (@dosha.health)
A 90-minute deeply restorative sound bath with Neon Soul Wellness & Events (@neonsoul_wellnessandevents)
Closing the retreat with herbal tea and quiet connection
Rise & Restore was a reminder that strength can be soft, and that giving yourself time to reset is often the most powerful way to move forward.
Cove Run Club: Our first run of 2026

January also marked our first Cove Run Club of 2026, bringing our run club community together beyond the studio for shared movement and fresh air.
Cove Run Club isn’t about pace or performance. It’s about moving together, supporting one another, and creating space for connection in a different way. Seeing familiar faces come together outside the Reformer, supporting each other through movement, set the tone for what Run Club is all about this year. A simple reminder that community doesn’t stop at the studio doors.
Cove Walking Club: A beautiful beginning

One of the real highlights of January was the launch of Cove Walking Club, and the response completely exceeded expectations.
Our first walk took place on Sunday 18th January, meeting outside Cove Reformer Studio. What started as a gentle invitation turned into something really special, with over 48 people showing up to walk, chat, and connect.
Open to both the Cove community and those new to us, Walking Club is about:
Fresh air
Gentle, accessible movement
Community, without pressure
From January onwards, Cove Walking Club will meet on the last Sunday of every month, exploring local routes and offering a relaxed way to move together.
Seeing so many people arrive, some familiar, some brand new, was a powerful reminder of how much space there is for inclusive, community-led movement.
Why Cove Community events matter
Events like retreats, run clubs, and walking clubs are an extension of what Cove Reformer Studio stands for.
They create:
Connection beyond classes
Opportunities to move in ways that feel supportive
Space for conversation, calm, and community
A sense of belonging, whatever your relationship with movement
They remind us that movement doesn’t have to be intense to be meaningful.
Looking ahead
January has set the tone for 2026, thoughtful movement, supportive spaces, and moments that bring people together.
Whether you joined us at Rise & Restore, came along to Cove Run Club or Cove Walking Club, or simply showed up to your regular classes, thank you for being part of Cove.
We’re excited for what’s ahead.
Final thoughts
Cove has always been about more than what happens on the Reformer. It’s about the people, the conversations, and the shared moments in between.
January reminded us that starting slowly, together, is sometimes the strongest way to begin.
