Introducing Cove Reformer Pilates co-founders

Cove was founded in June 2024 by Jodie and Laura. Together, Jodie and Laura bring decades of experience in marketing and business development, plus a genuine love of Reformer Pilates. The result? A business based on knowledge, passion, and experience.

Laura and Jodie first met at ballet classes when they were around 4 years old, they then attended the same school locally and subsequently worked together 10 years ago where their close friendship solidified. Jodie has worked in Marketing & PR for over 10 years, and has worked for big brands such as, Ann Summers, Rush Hair & Beauty & The GelBottle. Jodie's current position is held at NIO Cocktails. Laura is a director of local Estate Agency Mark Revill & Co and has been there for over 10 years.

One day in March, they met for lunch to catch up, and on the way home, Laura mentioned that she wanted to do something with the space at 2 Denmans Lane. They visited the space, fell in love with it and briefly spoke about how it would be perfect for a modern, luxury Reformer Pilates studio. They realised what was missing locally within the Refomer Pilates space, completed their market research and created what they would have wanted as a consumer. This has been the backbone of how they've planned the business, from the luxury interiors, insisting on the best beds in the industry, sourcing knowledgeable and approachable instructors and creating a wholesome and nourishing space.

They have combined their skills and expertise from their careers to make Cove a successful Reformer Studio, but also a brand. Cove has been a labour of love but something that they feel so proud to have started and they can't wait for Sussex to be a part of the beautiful studio.

So why Reformer Pilates? It has been so important to both in their adult lives, providing strength and peace. They feel strongly that Cove will be a sanctuary for everyone and anyone and want all to feel comfortable. Cove are offering classes for all abilities, including; Pre&post-natal and male only.

The reason Cove wanted to include male only classes was that there is a massive mis-conception that Reformer Pilates is just for women and in fact it was created by a man for men and can massively help with strength, injury prevention and posture. The team at Cove wants to slowly break that barrier down and hope that by offering them a separate space this will allow them the opportunity to feel more open to trying it.
